Symptom(s):

• DOS application cannot run in a high resolution video mode.
• DOS game displays an error or blank screen when the game runs.

Cause:
The Intel® 810/810E/815/815E chipsets do not support using a linear framebuffer with VBE applications. Only banked VBE modes are supported. Some DOS games and applications try to use linear framebuffer modes and are unable to use banked modes.

Solution:
If the game or application has the option of choosing a banked (not linear) video mode, select a banked mode.
