Zone Rendering 3 Technology was introduced with the Intel® 82915G Express Chipset Family and the Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator 900. It is a unique technology for drawing 3D scenes. Zone Rendering Technology 3 (ZRT3) is a tile-based rendering system designed to reduce memory bandwidth consumption and maximize rendering performance.
The impact to memory bandwidth consumption (and performance) of ZRT3 scales based on the depth complexity of a given scene. For more detailed information on ZRT3, please refer to the Intel® Zone Rendering Technology 3 White Paper.
This paper further explains ZRT3 capabilities, outlines the advantages offered by zone rendering, and discusses the implications of zone rendering to software application developers.
