Symptom(s):
LCD blanks out after installing Symantec* pcAnywhere* Systems comes up at 640x480 and 16 colors with pcAnywhere* installed.

Solution:
This has been fixed in the latest update to pcAnywhere* 10.5. When installing pcAnywhere 10.5, be sure to run the LiveUpdate* prior to rebooting the system to prevent the problem from occurring. Customers with prior versions of pcAnywhere* should contact Symantec* regarding the availability of a fix.

A workaround for customers that have already installed pcAnywhere without the update is to reboot the system in Safe Mode, then switch pcAnywhere* into compatibility mode by doing the following:

1. Start the system in Safe Mode by pressing F8 during bootup.
2. Run pcAnywhere.
3. From the "Tools" menu, choose "Application Options"
4. Go to the "Host Operation" tab
5. From the "Video mode selection" drop-down list, choose "Compatibility".
6. Reboot the system.
