The graphics drivers for Intel® 815/815E chipsets are required in order to enable all the features of the on-board graphics adapter, including the use of video modes higher than VGA mode (640x480 and 16 colors). They are also required in order to use hardware Direct3D* and OpenGL* 3D acceleration. If the system already has these capabilities, then some version of the graphics drivers are already installed. Upgrading the graphics drivers is not recommended if the graphic adapter is already working properly.
Note: Do not install the graphics drivers for Intel 815/815E chipsets on a system that has an AGP video card installed or on a system based on the Intel® 815EP chipset. The integrated graphics of the Intel 815/815E chipsets is disabled when an AGP video card is installed.
