Symptom(s):

• NBA Live 99* will not run.
• When the game icon is clicked, the screen goes black for less than one second and then returns to the desktop with no further action taken.

Solution:
The following steps have helped in some cases:
1) Uninstall the game.
2) Reinstall and reconfigure DirectX*.
3) Reinstall the game after quitting all other programs except Windows* Explorer.
