You tried to run CASMGR when it was already installed and active.
Cure:
Don't do that!
Other Programs Have Been Loaded After Casmgr...
Other programs have been loaded after CASMGR. You must unload other programs before CASMGR can be unloaded.
Cause:
You tried to unload CASMGR when other memory-resident programs were loaded after it.
Cure:
Unload all the memory-resident programs that were loaded after CASMGR before you try to unload CASMGR. For instance, if you loaded FAXPOP, it must be unloaded before CASMGR. Some memory-resident programs, such as the DOS PRINT program or Novell's IPX, cannot be unloaded from memory. You must reboot your computer.
Unknown Error, Can't Remove Casmgr...
Cause:
An unexpected error occurred.
Cure:
Reboot your system.
A Dos Error Occurred While Opening Or Reading...
A DOS error occurred while opening or reading <filename>. Run the SETUP program and go to the "Copy Intel Software" screen. Follow the instructions to install the software on your system.
Cause:
DOS couldn't open or read at least one of the files needed for the SatisFAXtion board.
| SatisFAXtion Board |
Files |
| Modem/350 |
CASMGR.CFG, DOWNLOAD.400, LOADER.400 |
| Upgraded SatisFAXtion |
ClCASMGR.CFG, DOWNLOAD.200, LOADER.200 |
| Classic |
CASMGR.CFG DOWNLOAD.IPF, LOADER.IPF |
Cure:
Try again. If error repeats, run SETUP and go to the "Copy Intel Software" screen. Select "First Time Setup" then follow the instructions on the screen.
An Invalid I/O Address Was Specified
An invalid I/O address was specified for the "IOADDR=" option on the "DEVICE=" command line in your CONFIG.SYS file. Run the SETUP program and go to the "Advanced Setup, Setup Hardware" screen. Follow the instructions to set up the Fax I/O address.
Cause:
In your CONFIG.SYS file, the command "DEVICE=SATISFAX.SYS" contains the wrong address in the parameter "IOADDR=xxxx". This error does not necessarily indicate an I/O port conflict, since the error occurs before the driver actually checks for the presence of the SatisFAXtion board.
Cure:
Run SETUP. Select "Advanced Setup" then "Set Up Hardware". Reselect the Fax I/O address for SatisFAXtion. Select EXIT then UPDATE to save the change. Reboot and the problem should be solved.
Note:
It is possible to use a text editor to make the change in your CONFIG.SYS file but you may have to run SETUP anyway to find the actual I/O address. Intel recommends fixing this problem with SETUP.
Bad Or Missing Configuration File
Cause:
One or more of the SatisFAXtion configuration files (files with the .CFG extension) have been corrupted or deleted. It is also possible that the CASMGR command in your AUTOEXEC.BAT file specifies the wrong configuration filename.
Cure:
Run SETUP and select "Copy Intel Software". Set the options (via "First Time Setup" or "Advanced Setup"). Select "Exit Setup" then select "Update". You may need to delete *.CFG before running SETUP.
Can't Find The Resident Loader File...

The interrupt selected by SETUP will not work in your system.
Cure:
Run SETUP. Select "Advanced Setup" then "Set Up Hardware". Select a different value for Fax Interrupt". Exit SETUP and select "Update".
The Satisfaxtion Board Isn'T Responding Correctly
This is possibly due to a conflicting FAX I/O address. Run the SETUP program again (or use the IBM Reference diskette if you have a Micro Channel computer) and change the FAX I/O address.
This error occurs when there is an I/O port (or possibly an IRQ conflict) between the SatisFAXtion board and another board in the computer. Run SETUP and resolve the conflict. This error may also occur if the download cannot be loaded, or if it is corrupt and does not load properly.
Note:
When this error occurs, the device driver responds with the following:
Total SatisFAXtion memory K Resident loader version Transfer agent version
Intel SatisFAXtion device driver installed.
CASMGR will then fail to load and gives this error: "Intel fax board not responding."
This error can also be caused by TSR's running in the background.
If you use IRQ 10 or 11 when the board is in an 8 bit slot this error will result. Use IRQ 2,3,4,5, or 7 or move the board into a 16 bit slot.
The Satisfaxtion Board Isn'T Set Up Correctly.
Run the SETUP program again and follow the instruction to install and set up your SatisFAXtion board.

Run SETUP. Select "Advanced Setup" then :Set Up Hardware" and double check that all options are correct. Select "Exit Setup" then select "Update". You may also edit the CONFIG.SYS file yourself and remove the invalid parameters.
Unable To Access The Satisfaxtion Driver
Cause:
The SatisFAXtion driver, SATISFAX.SYS, is not installed.
Cure:
Make sure the command DEVICE=C:\FAX\SATISFAX.SYS IOADDR=xxxx is in your CONFIG.SYS file (where "xxxx" is the board's I/O address assigned in SETUP). If it isn't, run SETUP. If it is, watch your screen carefully during bootup for any error messages from SATISFAX.SYS. Look up any errors and take the appropriate corrective action.
If you use the SSWAP functions of the STACKER data compression program, make sure the SATISFAX.SYS command follows the SSWAP command in your CONFIG.SYS file.
Unable To Download The Satisfaxtion Firmware

Unknown Error, #<XXX>
Cause:
The FAX program encountered an unusual error for which it has no message. One or more files may be corrupted.
Cure:
Quit the FAX program and try to run it again. If you still have problems, restart your computer (by pressing Ctrl-Alt- Del) and try again.
A customer reported a problem with Ashton Tate's CONTROL ROOM. Try booting with a clean AUTOEXEC.BAT and CONFIG.SYS.
If you use IRQ 10 or 11 when the board is in an 8 bit slot this error will result. Use IRQ 2,3,4,5, or 7 or move the board into a 16 bit slot.
