NOTE: If the fax is incomplete or the pop-up appears after the file is converted, FAXPOP timed out because WordPerfect takes long pauses while it prints the file. If you have this problem, run SETUP. From the Advanced setup/Setup pop-up options screen, set Time-out to 30 (or higher if necessary). If the problem persists, print to a file first. Then, from a DOS prompt, copy the file to the FAXPOP capture port.
Install The Printer Driver
You need the the WordPerfect* printer disks to install the printer driver.
- Select Print (Shift-F7) to display the print menu.
- Choose the option Select Printer (S).
- Select Additional Printers (2), and look for the appropriate printer: HP LaserJet II, Epson FX-85, or DOS text Printer.
If it's not there, choose Other Disk (2), insert the next WordPerfect printer disk into drive A:, and specify drive A: as the Directory for Printer Files.
Look for the appropriate printer by paging up and down. If it's not on this disk, choose Other Disk (2) again and look through each of the other WordPerfect printer disks until you find it.
- Highlight the appropriate printer and press ENTER. Press ENTER again for the Printer Filename: prompt.
- Select Exit (F7) to exit the Printer Helps and Hints screen.
Assigning The Fax Capture Port
- Choose Name (1).
- Type Intel fax pop-up for the printer name.
- Select Port (2).
- Press 3 to assign the port to LPT3.
- Press ENTER at the Select Printer screen to make this the current printer.
- Select Exit (F7). Make sure you remove the WordPerfect printer disk.
Sending The Fax
- From the editing screen, select Print (Shift-F7).
- If Intel fax pop-up printer isn't selected, choose Select Printer (S) and use the up and down arrows to highlight the Intel fax pop-up entry. Then press ENTER.
- From the Print menu, select Full Document (1).
- The FAXPOP pop-up appears. Fill in at least the To: and Phone: fields and press F10 when you're done.
- When WordPerfect is finished "printing," the pop-up will reappear to convert and send your fax.
- Before you try to use your printer again, switch WordPerfect back to your regular printer.
