* After selecting the equivalent Intel Modem or SatisFAXtion Faxmodem for the 24v/96e or 24v/96i, edit the initialization string and change the "\N3" to "\N7".
If your software doesn't list your Intel faxmodem or the equivalent Intel modem or SatisFAXtion faxmodem, here are initialization strings that should work in the majority of cases:
| 144, 96, and 24v Faxmodems |
AT&F&W |
| 24/96i |
AT&F&C1&D2 |
| SatisFAXtion 350 |
AT&F\N0\A0\J1\V0"H0-J0 |
| 14.4EX, 9600EX, 2400 V.42bis |
AT&F\N0\Q0\J1\V0"H0-J0 |
| Intel 2400 MNP modems |
AT&F\N0\Q0\J1\V0 |
| Intel non-MNP modems |
AT&F&C1&D2 |
If you have trouble connecting to another modem with your Intel 144/144, 96/96, or 24v/96 Faxmodem, try this initialization string which turns off the data compression and error correction features of your Faxmodem.
AT&F\N0\Q0\J1\V0"H0-J0
This gives you a better chance of connecting to a modem that doesn't support these features.
