Legacy operating systems
The following operating systems were supported by Intel® Matrix Storage Manager. They are not supported by Intel® Rapid Storage Technology.
Microsoft Windows 2000* Advanced Server
- Intel® Matrix Storage Manager v7.0 is the last version that supports this operating system.
- Windows 2000 Advanced Server support is not available for mobile platforms supported by Intel Rapid Storage Technology (previously known as the Intel® Matrix Storage Manager).
Microsoft Windows 2000* Professional
- Intel® Matrix Storage Manager v5.7 is the last version that supports this operating system.
- Windows 2000 Professional support is not available for chipsets beginning with the Intel® 82801HR/HH/HO I/O controller hub (ICH8R).
Linux*
The kernel provides the RAID level support. The utilities support the Intel® Matrix Storage Manager metadata format.
To use the RAID features in dmraid and mdadm, set up the RAID volume using the Intel® Matrix Storage Manager option ROM. To enter the option ROM user interface, click CTRL + I when prompted during boot.
