Pros: Has FireWire 800 port ; improved battery life ; high quality display ; bootable SD card slot

Cons: No matte screen option ; no video adapters or Apple Remote included ; no CPU or 7,200 rpm upgrade options available

Verdict: And finally, the new 13-inch MacBook Pros now feature a Secure Digital (SD) memory card slot. Having an internal SD card reader is obviously handy for photographers and videographers whose cameras record to the popular SD format, but that's not its ...

With its lower price, the return of FireWire (woo-hoo!), longer battery life, better looking display and a new built-in SD Card slot that you can boot from, the newest member of the MacBook Pro makes an impressive debut.

Pros: Very good processing parts for an entry-level machine. Unparalleled multi-touch gestures. Best-looking chassis in its class. Sturdy. Return of the FireWire port. Bigger, better battery life than its predecessor's. Lower prices. Backlit keyboard. ...

Cons: Base memory is little low for this day and age

Verdict: Bringing in an SD slot and bringing back the FireWire portwhile also lowering priceseliminated Apple's weakest links in the 13-inch MacBook Pro. Add bigger, better battery life and you've got yourself a winner.

After all the whining, the bickering, and the constant remarks about how Windows-based laptops have this and that and cost so much less, Apple, a company known to make its own rules, is finally letting down its guard. The lovable MacBook Pro 13-inch ...

Pros: Beautiful, durable design, Thinnest and lightest 17-inch notebook, Gorgeous edge-to-edge glass display, Long battery life, Multitouch trackpad

Cons: No Blu-ray option or memory card reader, Battery not user-replaceable, Pricey

Verdict: The glossy display only limited our viewing angles when we tried to watch from a severe 180-degree angle. Otherwise, viewing angles were decent when watching from the side, when dipping the screen forward, and when sitting a few feet away. For $50 ...
