Pros: Incredibly small size GPS and WWAN capability

Cons: Form throttles function Underpowered components

Verdict: The U820 also has a mobile broadband modem, which allows you to hop onto AT&T's EDGE service (with a subscription). And then there's the built-in GPS functionality, care of Garmin. While it won't replace your standard GPS unit, it works--most of the ...

As computers shrink to the size of Pop-Tarts boxes, the Fujitsu Lifebook U820 promises to lead the charge--and still be functional. Unfortunately, it needs to have a better interface and to make smarter use of its meager resources. As it stands, the ...

Pros: Very portable and light ; long battery life ; excellent input options ; plethora of ports

Cons: Runs too slow for most computing tasks ; cramped keyboard ; screen is hard to read ; mobile broadband just an option ; no extra touch software

Intel has a lot of work to do with the Atom processor before it is ready to power next-gen mobile devices. Crippled for speed, it has very little useful application for anyone who uses...

Pros: Compact, lightweight design, Bright screen with sharp resolution, Integrated GPS and optional 3G, Over 5 hours of battery life

Cons: Keyboard too small for touch typists, Uncomfortable stylus, Sluggish performance, Expensive for a secondary system

Verdict: Other features around the tiny case include a single USB port, headphone and microphone jacks, an SD Card reader, and a CompactFlash slot (which can be used like a PC Card to add functionality). There's also a port to connect to Fujitsu's docking ...

This tiny convertible tablet features GPS and good battery life for users on the go.

Pros: Integrated WWAN. Convertible tablet. CF sSlot. SD slot. Weighs 1.5 pounds

Cons: Added row of keys cramps the keyboard. New resolution makes text even harder to read. 1GB of memory is the max. Vista runs too slow on this device. Spinning hard drive is slow. Extended battery makes it look awkward

Verdict: The U820's improvementsnew keyboard layout, GPS, and a higher screen resolutionaren't enough to kick-start the handheld PC category.

The proliferation of netbooks and even smartphones has all but made handheld PCs like the Sony VAIO VGN-UX180P and the OQO model 02 obsolete. Their downfall is that they're expensive, severely underpowered, and have cramped, uncomfortable keyboards. ...

Pros: Incredibly portable! Fantastic battery life

Cons: High resolution on a 5.6" display means text is too tiny, even if you have good eyes. Digitizer doesn't want to recalibrate to a lower display resolution. Expensive and adding desirable options like 3G and an SSD drive really drive the price up. Not ...

Verdict: Obviously, a 5.6" display miniature Windows PC is a niche item. If you need a Windows computer most everywhere you go, the Fujitsu U820's light weight and small size are easy on the back and it's so small it doesn't scream "steal me" like a full size ...

What's hot: One of the smallest Windows PCs on the planet.
