Overview
Intel Research works on a host of projects at any given time. Many of the projects are seeded in the successes of earlier interactions of research. Please explore some of the early successes of our researchers.

Past Success Stories
IrisNet - IrisNet is an architecture and system for a worldwide sensor web. The sensor web combines a variety of sensor types, including video, and permits globally distributed data collection, actuation, and data mining.
Radio Free Intel - Radio Free Intel is the vision of adding wireless capabilities to every device by integrating the radio circuits and systems directly into every component. By using the cost and high-volume advantages of standard CMOS processes, Radio Free Intel makes wireless connectivity ubiquitous and ultimately, easier for people to use.
Robotics - The emergence of new genre of machine learning tools firmly grounded in statistical methods is particularly exciting. Systems such as those under development by Daphne Koller (Stanford), Dieter Fox (University of Washington) and Sebastian Thrun (Stanford University) use uncertainty to support robotic hypothesis generation, a key stepping stone to anticipation.
Retail Research - Retail is an important part of almost everyone’s life. Read about areas for innovation in retail establishments.
The Meaning of Place - We inhabit places, not physical coordinates or zones of reception. Places are imbued with meaning through cultural practice; places are bounded and denoted in ways that may or may not match physical or technological means.
