Rio Rancho, NM

Intel began operations in Rio Rancho, N.M. in 1980 with fewer than 25 employees. Today, there are more than 5,000 employees in New Mexico.

In 2000, Intel began building an expansion to Fab 11. The fab's expansion module, Fab 11X began full-scale production started in October 2002. Fab 11X is Intel's first fully automated high volume production facility.
