Gerald S. Holzhammer is vice president of the Digital Home Group and general manager of the Consumer PC Platform Group for Intel Corporation.
Holzhammer was vice president
Desktop Platforms Group and co-general manager of the Platform Architecture and Solutions Division. He was responsible for Intel's desktop platform development, motherboard products and related industry and technology initiatives.
Previously, Holzhammer served as co-general manager of platform architecture in the solutions division of the Desktop Platforms Group, where he was responsible for creating and delivering platform solutions for the IA client market segment.
He has also served as director of desktop platform architecture, where his primary focus was research and development of next-generation solutions for the digital home and digital office usage models.
Holzhammer joined Intel in 1990 and has served in a management role for a number of Intel R&D labs, including those focused on chip design, multi-media and desktop platforms. During this time, he worked on PC platform innovations such as PCI, USB, AGP, ISA, and PCI-Express.
Prior to joining Intel, Holzhammer worked at Biin, and Siemens AG, both joint ventures between Intel and Siemens, where he managed object-oriented platform development teams.
Holzhammer received his master's degree in electrical engineering from Technical University of Vienna, Austria, in 1979. He currently holds three patents.
