Greg Spirakis is a Vice President, Technology & Manufacturing Group and Director of Design Technology (DT) at Intel Corporation. He is responsible for the development and delivery of software technologies and tools for the computer-aided design (CAD) of silicon chips in all four of Intel's major architecture families: the 32-bit Intel Architecture; the Itanium Processor Families; the Personal Client Architecture (PCA); and the Internet Exchange Architecture (IXA).
A global organization, Intel's Design Technology provides advanced CAD tools covering the logic design and validation, performance verification, physical design, and manufacturing test of the most complex, high performance silicon designs in the industry. DT also actively engages in fundamental CAD technology research and manages joint programs with academic and industrial CAD researchers. In 2001 DT won the prestigious IQA award.
Spirakis joined Intel in 1982 as an EPROM reliability engineer and has since held a variety of technical and management roles, including positions as Yield Manager, Design Manager and Q & R Manager. In 1997, Spirakis became Director of Design Technology. He has received three Intel Achievement Awards.
Spirakis received a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and Materials Science Engineering from UC Berkeley in 1982. He is married with two children.
