Kevin Corbett is a vice president of the Digital Home Group and general manager of Strategy, Planning and Content Group.
In this role, Corbett is responsible for driving the corporation’s digital home strategy, planning road map and business development, and accelerating the delivery of digital entertainment to the heart of Intel® Viiv™ processor technology-based PCs, Intel® Centrino® processor technology-based laptops and other consumer and handheld devices. His focus includes building strategic alliances with major worldwide PC and CE device manufacturers, media companies, Hollywood studios, Web portals, and network, satellite and cable distribution companies.
Previously, Corbett was the CTO for the Digital Home and Desktop Products Groups. In these positions, he focused on developing the strategy and architecture for Intel’s Digital Home and Digital Office initiatives, ultimately resulting in the creation of the Intel® Viiv™ processor technology home and Intel® vPro™ processor technology corporate platforms. Corbett was also instrumental in driving the strategic alignment of the computer, entertainment and consumer electronics industries in an effort to establish an interoperable home network standards group, the Digital Living Network Alliance.
Corbett’s Intel career spans strategic planning, field sales and product development along with championing Intel’s platform focus. Corbett also spent several years leading Intel’s charge to create global industry computing standards for USB, AGP, PCI Express and Intel Graphics.
Prior to joining Intel in 1992, Corbett worked for Abbott Laboratories in business planning and engineering. He received his bachelor’s degree in computer science from the University of Texas, Dallas in 1988.
