Boon Chye (BC) Ooi

BC Ooi is a Vice President, Corporate Technology Group and Director, Operations. Ooi is responsible for internal operations of the various labs, Operational excellence, technical leadership pipeline development and technology programs.

Appointed to Vice President in 1993 and Director in 1990, Ooi was previously the General Manager of the OEM Platform Solutions Division (OPSD), responsible for design, engineering, software development, and marketing and sales for desktop PCs sold to OEM customers and disti channels. During Ooi's first 10 years at Intel, he was stationed overseas. His assignments included assembly operations manager, plant manager and general manager.

Since moving to the United States in 1986, Ooi has been the assistant general manager of Logic Components Manufacturing, director of Component Planning, and plant manager for A4/T11 in Chandler, Ariz. As plant manager, Ooi was responsible for the start-up of C4 and making it a volume assembly and test factory. He was also the general manager for worldwide systems manufacturing, with plants in Puerto Rico, Ireland, Washington, Malaysia and Oregon.

Before joining Intel in 1976, Ooi worked as materials manager for Litronix in Malaysia.

Ooi earned his Affiliate from Chartered Management Accountants, in the U.K. in 1978 and his bachelor's degree in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix, Ariz., in 1992. He is a member of the Association of Accounting Technicians and an affiliate member of Chartered Management Accountants.
