Intel K.K. And Walt Disney Japan Strike Up The Band With "Mickey Symphony"

Rich and Dynamic Broadband Content Showcases Power of PC and Internet

TOKYO, Sept. 30, 2004 - Intel K.K. and Walt Disney Internet Group Japan Asia Pacific, a division of The Walt Disney Company Japan announced a new broadband entertainment content service for the Japanese market called "Mickey Symphony".

"Mickey Symphony" is the first outcome of Intel and Disney's joint effort to provide consumers with exciting content that showcases the audio and video capabilities of the latest Intel-based PCs and Japan's advanced broadband infrastructure.

PC users can enjoy three classic symphonies with up to 7.1 channel surround sound performed by a first-class, 60-person orchestra and accompanied by Disney characters. "Pomp and Circumstance" offers an adventurous trip to a mystic universe with Mickey Mouse. "Rhapsody in Blue" tells an enchanted love story between Donald Duck and Daisy Duck in New York in the 1960's. "Carnival of the Animals" follows Chip and Dale, cheerful squirrel characters, playing in a forest.

Each musical number includes interactive special effects, such as arranging backgrounds for Mickey Mouse, dancing with Donald and Daisy, and rotating the scenery in "Carnival of Animals by 360 degrees.

The content will be available in late October at http://www.disney.co.jp/disneybb/ for subscribers of Disney BB on FLET's broadband service, and is supported by the high-quality and secure FLET's network of NTT (Nippon Telegraph and Telephone) East and NTT West. In addition, consumers can see a preview of the content from Oct. 1 through Nov. 30 at http://www.magicaltheater.jp/.

"Mickey Symphony" is optimized for PC's based on the Intel® Pentium® 4 processor supporting Hyper-Threading Technology (HT**) and the Intel® 915G Express chipset which provides a high-quality audio and graphics experience. The chipset family is the "glue" between the processor and the rest of the PC, such as the memory, and hard disk drives.

Intel Pentium 4 processors with HT technology and the Intel 915G/P and 925X Express Chipsets are available on mainstream PCs. These new chipsets are coupled with the latest Pentium 4 processors supporting HT Technology and support up to 7.1 channel surround sound and advanced video capabilities.

"As a leading media company, Disney is committed to delivering content which satisfies a broad range of consumer demands utilizing new technologies. We are excited about our joint development with Intel," said Koji Hoshino, President, Walt Disney Japan Ltd. "The achievement with Mickey Symphony has taken us to a new level of content creation and distribution. Intel and Disney, leaders in technology and media respectively, joined forces to create this milestone product in Japan and expect to continue further expansion of our collaborative relationship."

"Walt Disney Internet Group, the division which manages the Internet businesses of the Walt Disney Company, has been creating a variety of compelling content for both the mobile and PC Internet platforms," said Birathon Kasemsri, Sr. Vice President, Walt Disney Internet Group Japan Asia Pacific. "Mickey Symphony is a superb example of what a high-performance PC coupled with broadband Internet means for consumers - consumers can now enjoy rich and interactive entertainment content in their daily lives. We believe that this unique broadband content will be a catalyst for further expanding consumer interest in broadband entertainment."

"This rich, interactive experience from Disney and Intel has been optimized for use on Intel's latest microprocessor and chipset technologies," said Kazumasa Yoshida, Co-President, Intel K.K.
