Test Details:
MainConcept* H.264 Encoder v2.1 [Testing Details - PDF 185KB] H.264/AVC (Advanced Video Coding), also known as MPEG-4 Part 10, is poised to be a major video standard because it can replace several popular formats while offering significant advantages over them. The MainConcept* H.264 Encoder v2.1 is famous for its speed and quality and it includes the H.264 Decoder, enabling you to play H.264 files in Windows Media Player* and other compatible programs. Furthermore, it offers numerous profiles for MPEG conversion.
XMPEG* 5.03 with DivX* 6.5 [Testing Details - PDF 455KB] XMPEG is a multipurpose video encoding application, which converts MPEG- 1 and MPEG-2 streams, or DVD-IFO video format to AVI or bbMPeg Encoder format. DivX is a format for digital video, much like MP3 is a format for digital music. DivX technology provides excellent compression and the resulting visual quality is virtually indistinguishable from a DVD.

¹ The input file is a 30sec long, 1920x1080 HD mpeg2 video clip with bitrate of about 18000kpbs. The output is an H.264 format video clip encoded at 6000kbps.

² Assume a video clip = 30 seconds. Complete videos only.

³ A five minute HD video extrapolation based on XPEG* 5.03 with DivX* 6.5 converting one 24 sec HDV MPEG2 into a compressed HD DivX file. Comlete videos only. No other applications were running during the test.
