How is it different?

  • With ad hoc mode, you need to disconnect from the Internet to connect to a single Wi-Fi device
  • Intel® My WiFi Technology stays connected to the Internet and can run up to eight additional consumer electronics device connections

And, best of all, devices simply need standard Wi-Fi to connect.

 

What do I need?

  • Hardware: You need an Intel® laptop with an Intel® Ultimate N WiFi Link 5300, an Intel® WiFi Link 5100 or an Intel® WiFi Link 1000 adapter
  • Software: Microsoft Windows Vista* or Microsoft Windows 7*

Tested to work together

Your new laptop with Intel® My WiFi Technology will work best with Wi-Fi Certified* CE devices that have also passed Intel's rigorous interoperability testing. We do the homework and you get the benefits.

¹ Wi-Fi Personal Area Network refers only to WiFi-enabled devices connecting to the PC via the Intel® My WiFi Technology. Wi-Fi devices must be certified by the Wi-Fi Alliance for 802.11b/g/a. Check with your PC manufacturer for more details.
