What do I do at Intel?

In short, I research new state-of-the-art technologies to make laptops lighter, faster, and smaller. These advanced signaling technologies-that could eventually be adopted in a product in the next 5-10 years- include chip-to-chip interconnections, package structures analysis as well as new materials characterization to determine their electrical properties.

What's the biggest misconception that I think people have about working at Intel?

This is funny, but here in Mexico most of the people think that Intel is a cell phone company. On the other hand, people know what Pentium® is.

Do I participate in any volunteer activities at Intel?

Yes, I volunteer at the Intel Guadalajara Club House. It has been a great opportunity to interact with kids of different ages and motivate them to get into high tech topics. I have been acting as mentor of their internet Radio Station, just giving them some guidance, since they are deep experts in the area.

What do I do when I'm NOT at work?

I like playing soccer, squash and basketball. Movies are also a great passion, but what I love most is to be outdoors visiting the little towns around the city.

What's the coolest website that I've discovered?

Google Earth is an awesome tool to plan a trip and know where we are going.

What's the coolest gadget I've bought lately or want to buy?

My iPhone* — but now it's time for a Wii*!
