"A misconception people may have about Intel? That it may be like other technology companies they have worked for. It is not; it’s far slicker."

What is a cool opportunity that I’ve had while working at Intel?

Before starting my current role, I went to the US to work with the Microprocessor Marketing and Business Planning team. Being at the headquarters in Santa Clara is an awesome experience to see the big picture of our corporation. It was great spending time over there, rather than the usual brief trips I have made. It also led to some good friendships and networking.

What’s one of the fun experiences I’ve had since working at Intel?

Intel allows you to save a week of holiday a year*, then you can use that for a sabbatical. I took mine in 2008 and went mountaineering in Uganda and guerilla trekking in Rwanda with some of the Intel Poland team. It was an experience of a life time.

What volunteer events have I participated in while working at Intel?

My team spent a day entertaining Latvian orphans. Not sure who had more fun—the children or the adults!

What do I do when I’m not at work?

Trekking, traveling, eating out, sky diving, computer games, and making my girlfriend laugh.

As you can see from this picture, I visited a Buddhist Tiger Sanctuary in Thailand. The tigers seemed so content; the monk’s laid-back manner seemed to have rubbed off on the tigers! Maan and Tiger

What’s the coolest Website or Blog that I’ve discovered recently?

I would say The Register®* web site. It keeps you up to date, with a very dry wit.

What’s the most adventurous thing I’ve ever done?

Jumping out of a perfectly good airplane!
