The Site

Located in Southern California, Intel Irvine began in 1997 with the acquisition of Corollary, Inc.*, a leading supplier of high-end multiprocessing technology based on Intel® Architecture to systems manufacturers worldwide. Intel Irvine primarily focuses on designing and developing advanced Input/Output Hubs (IOH) for Intel architecture platforms to support future generations of Intel processors, as well as extending Intel-based Server/Workstation system initiatives across the enterprise.

The site has a growing team of chipset designers and pre-silicon validation engineers, as part of the Advanced Chipset Division within the platform-focused Digital Enterprise Group. In addition, there are board/platform hardware design, BIOS and software expertise and analog/circuit design teams located at the site. The Irvine site is also home to employees supporting other major groups within Intel. Irvine developed the successful Profusion™ chipset for eight-way processing on a single server platform, as well as Plumas/Plumas533 chipsets for Intel architecture-based servers. The site offers careers in the following areas: Hardware Engineering and Information Technology.
