Retirement planning is a partnership between Intel and employees. To have a financially secure and comfortable retirement, you and Intel must work together. Intel's Sheltered Employee Retirement Plan (SERP) includes three components:
- A Profit Sharing Plan, where Intel makes an annual discretionary contribution guided by market competitiveness that is not tied to participation in the 401(k) Savings Plan;
- A 401(k) Savings Plan that includes a Roth 401(k) feature; and,
- A defined benefit Pension Plan, in the event that an employee's profit sharing account balance does not provide a minimum level of retirement income.
Intel's profit sharing contribution was seven percent of employees' eligible earnings in 2007.
Intel also offers eligible retirees access to healthcare at a reasonable cost.
Life, Accident Death and Dismemberment (AD&D), and Long-Term Disability Insurance
Eligible Intel U.S. employees are provided with Basic Life, Basic AD&D, Business Travel Accident insurance, and Long-Term Disability insurance benefits at no cost.
Supplemental Employee Life, Supplemental AD&D, Dependent Life, and AD&D insurance is available to eligible employees at group rates. Intel employees are also enrolled in Short-Term Disability coverage.
Employee Assistance Program
The Employee Assistance Program (EAP) provides employees and their eligible dependents confidential and convenient access to short-term professional counseling services at no cost.
Flexible Spending Accounts
Flexible Spending Accounts provide the opportunity to pay for eligible health and child care expenses with pretax dollars.
Flexible Work Arrangements
Intel supports flexible work arrangements that are appropriate for the job and location. In agreement with your manager, you may telecommute, work part time, job share, adopt alternative start and stop times or make other arrangements that meet your and Intel's needs.
Recreation
Intel's major U.S. campuses have on-site facilities that offer recreational opportunities such as basketball, volleyball, fitness centers, and other activities. Specific recreational offerings vary from site to site.
Work/Life Support Programs
Based on site and location, employees may also have access to additional services to help balance the competing demands of work and home. Examples include child care and back-up child care programs, onsite stores, nationwide discounts, and other services. Intel also provides access to free resource services and seminars covering a variety of topics including parenting, healthy lifestyles, financial planning, eldercare and more.
