Intel Turkey's office is located in the center of Istanbul, near museums, cafes, bars, cinemas and shopping centers, with the biggest shopping center in the city a mere 10-minute walk away. Sports facilities, including tennis courts and a swimming pool, are also within walking distance. There is a good deal of sightseeing to do in Istanbul, including palaces, mosques, museums, monuments, the Golden Horn and the Bosphorus strait, which is a winding waterway connecting Europe to Asia. The best way to view the Bosphorus is on a passenger boat tour.
Istanbul is an art and cultural center. It is the host city of the International Arts and Cultural Festival held each year in June and July, during which famous artists visit from all over the world. In March and April, the International Film Festival comes to town. Classical music can be enjoyed at the Cemal Resit Rey Concert Hall. Operas, operettas, ballets, films, concerts, exhibitions and conferences all contribute to the cultural palette of the city.
Istanbul also has a rich selection of light entertainment, including nightclubs where Turkish songs and belly dancing are performed, and modern discos and jazz clubs in the Taksim-Harbiye district. On the Bosphorus, Ortaköy is one of the best places for nightlife in Istanbul, with its jazz clubs, fine seafood restaurants and bars.
Istanbul has four true seasons. On the weekends, just outside the city, you can enjoy outdoor sports such as hiking, rafting and bicycling during summer or skiing and snowboarding during the winter. There are many affordable housing options, crime is minimal, and the people are warm, helpful, hospitable and open-minded.
