Intel's benefits plans are designed to keep employees—our most important asset—healthy and productive. Our benefits are generous and personalized, in many cases letting employees choose the options that are right for themselves and their family.
Intel provides private medical coverage to all employees and their families. Intel pays 100 percent of employees' coverage (from recommended physicians and facilities) and 50 percent of family coverage. Medical coverage provided consists of coordinated care with select doctors. This policy also covers hospitalization surgery, non-hospitalization surgery, childbirth, psychiatric care and a dental reimbursement plan. Services from freely chosen physicians and clinics are reimbursed at 90 percent in Spain and 80 percent abroad. Annual limits and waiting periods for some coverage apply.
Intel provides a defined contribution retirement plan for employees with at least one year of employment. Coverage includes retirement, death prior to and after retirement, and disability prior to retirement (retirement age is 65). Intel contributes 70 percent of pension funds and the employee contributes 30 percent. Intel-contributed funds are vested on a 10-year schedule.
Coverage is provided for all Intel Spain employees by Swiss Life Espaņa, S.A. and includes two times an employee's annual salary for permanent disability and death. Accidental death coverage is four times an employee's annual salary. Annual salary is considered annual base pay plus Employee Bonus target amount.
Business Traveler Accident Insurance In addition to basic life insurance and basic accidental death insurance, Intel Spain provides business traveler accident coverage for all employees. Business traveler accident coverage equals five times an employees' annual salary up to $1 million (U.S.).
Business Traveler Medical Plan Intel Spain provides medical coverage to full-time and part-time employees at no cost for occasions when they are traveling on business outside of Spain (up to a maximum of 90 days). Coverage includes medically necessary accident and sickness expenses occurring during business travel.
Vacation Time
Intel Spain employees are entitled paid vacation leave of 22 days to allow them time to pursue recreational interests and enhance family/personal life, in addition to four days of compensation for non-compressed work weeks.
Extended Leave Program
Employees may choose to save three to seven days of vacation per year for a period of five years, or until they have been part of the program for five years. The employee then has a two-year timeframe in which to use this extended leave time.
Cafeteria Plan
Intel Spain offers employees lunch vouchers.
