Open since 2010, the Intel Romania Software and Development Center’s (IRSDC) focus is on IT research and development for next generation computing solutions. Part of the Intel® Software and Services Group, the IRSDC includes:

• A large team of software engineers dedicated to Open Source development and innovations in Open Source technologies.
• A team of highly skilled engineers focused on Platform Analysis and Optimization
• A business development team for the Intel Security Software and Services Division 

Additionally, our software efforts in Romania continue to expand with the latest addition of the Developer Products Division. 

With the opening of the IRSDC, Intel Romania joins Intel's established research and development network across European countries including Germany, France, Spain, the U.K., Switzerland, Poland and Finland.

Our site in Bucharest is also home to a Sales and Marketing team, which provides world-class sales and support at the original equipment manufacturer (OEM), developer and end-user levels.

Known for its wide, tree-lined boulevards, eclectic architecture and a reputation for the high life (which in the 1900s earned its nickname of "Little Paris"), Bucharest, Romania's largest city and capital, is today a bustling metropolis, steadily consolidating its position as the centre of the Romanian mass media, culture and arts. It is also Romania's largest centre for information technology and communications and is home to several software companies operating offshore delivery centres.

Bucharest, the sixth largest city in the European Union by population within city limits, has been experiencing an economic and cultural boom in recent years. Economically, Bucharest is the most prosperous city in Romania and is one of the main industrial centres and transportation hubs of Eastern Europe.
The city has a broad range of convention facilities, educational facilities, cultural venues, shopping arcades and recreational areas. It has a diverse and growing cultural scene featuring an eclectic mix of visual arts, performing arts and nightlife.

The Cismigiu Gardens have a rich history, being frequented by famous poets and writers. Opened in 1847, the gardens are currently the main recreational facility in the city centre.
Another well-known landmark in Bucharest is the Arcul de Triumf (The Triumphal Arch); it was built in 1935 and modeled after the Arc de Triomphe in Paris.
