Bonuses are the major element of Intel's variable pay and are central to Intel's approach to compensation. Our philosophy is to offer a greater portion of variable pay than the market average, because this provides a strong link between employees' compensation and company performance. We do this by providing two bonus plans: Employee Bonus (EB) and Employee Cash Bonus Program (ECBP). (Commission-eligible employees participate in the commission program in lieu of EB.)
Employee Cash Bonus Plan
This profit-sharing plan pays cash rewards twice a year. Through our Customer Excellence Program (CEP), employees may also receive an additional two days of pay each year on top of the ECBP payout. CEP measures customers' delight, their commitment to Intel, and the likelihood that they will do future business with us.
Employee Bonus
Through the EB plan, Intel shares profits by paying an annual cash reward based on the employee's bonus target. The EB formula is based on three equally weighted components: relative financial performance, absolute financial performance, and operational performance.
Midyear Bonus
All regular full time Intel Philippines employees, as of June 30 each year, are eligible for a Midyear Bonus equal to one half of one month's basic salary. The bonus is paid out each year in May, and is pro-rated for new hires, separating employees, and those on prolonged absence.
13th Month Bonus
As part of employee's total annual pay, Intel Philippines provides a "13th month pay" bonus to all eligible employees equal to one (1) month's basic pay. The bonus is paid out each year in November, and is pro-rated for new hires, separating employees and those on prolonged absence.
