Intel Honors Bergen Academies-Hackensack as 'Star Innovator' School
Intel has named Bergen Academies in Hackensack, New Jersey, the "Star Innovator" among six winners of the 2007 Intel Schools of Distinction Awards. Intel sponsors the awards to honor schools for implementing innovative math and science programs. This year, Schools of Distinction award winners will receive more than $1 million in cash, products, and services from the Intel Foundation and sponsoring companies. Oct 2007
Nokia announced that it will use Intel® WiMAX silicon product, code named Baxter Peak, in its Nseries Internet Tablets. The Internet tablets, expected to ship in 2008, will be among the first WiMAX-enabled open Internet devices. Intel Joins Bill Clinton's Global Initiative
Former President Bill Clinton announced at the Clinton Global Initiative (CGI) that Intel Corporation will bring its innovative Teach Program online to help more than 1.5 million teachers in 15 countries integrate technology into their lesson plans. The contest, open to the worldwide development community for a second year, awards cash prizes up to $10,000 for winning entries in a number of categories. The winners of the Intel Science Talent Search for 2007 were recently announced at a black-tie banquet in Washington, DC. The top award, a $100,000 scholarship from the Intel Foundation, went to Mary Masterman. The 17 year old Masterman built a spectrograph that accurately identifies specific characteristics of different kinds of molecules. Spectrographs can cost as much as $100,000; Mary's invention cost hundreds of dollars. Mar 2007
