Employees in Lithuania focus on software development, also working with local PC manufacturers, distributors and the software industry. This office is a center of excellence for optical-transport networking devices and forward error correction (FEC) technologies. It is also a research and development site, and part of Intel's Optical Component Group. Intel's Lithuania office is located in Vilnius, Lithuania's capital and largest city, which was founded in the 14th century and has developed into its political, economical and cultural center.
