Intel Paris is based in the outskirts of Paris, a smaller city called Meudon, famous for the Paris Observatory. Paris, France's capital and the "City of Lights," is perhaps the world's most lively and indulgent city. More like a collection of enchanting villages, Paris offers an overwhelming array of unique attractions and fine dining.
The Seine River runs right through the center of Paris, creating the Rive Droite (Right Bank) and Rive Gauche (Left Bank). On the Rive Droite you'll find the Avenue des Champs-Élysées, which leads to the Arc de Triomphe. This monument stands in memory of France's soldiers; it also offers panoramic views of the city. In the same area you'll find the Louvre, originally a medieval fortress and a royal palace before becoming a public museum in the late 1700s. The Louvre is home to such historic works of art as the Mona Lisa and Venus de Milo, as well as a world-renowned collection of other paintings, sculptures and more.
The Right Bank is also full of other museums, boutiques and restaurants. Notre Dame, or "Our Lady" in English, is more than 900 years old. From the top you can see the picturesque Seine River and the breathtaking City of Paris. On the Rive Gauche (Left Bank), is Paris' most famous landmark, the Eiffel Tower, which was commissioned in 1887 for the World Fair. The Eiffel Tower offers yet another amazing view — once you've climbed its 2,652 stairs to reach the top (or taken the elevator).
