Intel's benefits plans are designed to keep employees—our most important asset—healthy and productive. Our benefits are generous and personalized, in many cases letting employees choose the options that are right for themselves and their family.
Intel France employees are covered by private medical and dental insurance that supplements the government health plan. Clinical care, hospitalization, dental care, vision and prescription expenses are covered.
Intel France employees are covered by a government social security program, as well as a supplemental pension program and a private defined contribution plan where employees can contribute pre-tax funds for long-term investment.
Intel France employees are covered by life insurance that provides lump sum payment and pension to beneficiaries. The benefits are based on employee salary, martial/dependent status and options chosen by the beneficiaries, such as lower lump sum payment versus higher pension. In the case of accidental death, the lump sum benefit is doubled.
Business Traveler Accident Insurance In addition to basic life insurance and basic accidental death insurance, Intel France provides business traveler accident coverage for all employees. The coverage commences when employees leave their residence or place of regular employment for an Intel trip and continues until they return to their residence or place of regular employment, whichever occurs first. Business traveler accident coverage equals five times an employees' annual salary up to $1 million (U.S.).
Business Traveler Medical Plan Intel provides medical coverage to full-time and part-time Intel France employees at no cost while they travel on business outside of Intel for a period of up to 90 days. Coverage includes medically necessary accident and sickness expenses, which occur while on a business trip. Full plan details and expenses are available upon joining Intel and verification of travel.
Vacation Time
All Intel France employees receive 26 days of vacation per year, though some employees are also eligible for an additional three days off, depending on their length of service. Since the 2000 legislation, exempt employees are limited to working 218 days per year; therefore, extra days are granted to exempt employees to meet the 218-day requirement. These "balance extra" days (8-10 days depending on the year) are acquired at the rate of 0.8 days per month worked. Non-exempt employees work 37 hours a week and are granted 12 JRTT days, which are accrued at the rate of 1 day per month worked, to compensate for the difference between the legal working time set at 35 hours per week.
Extended Leave Program
Employees may choose to save three to seven days of vacation per year for a period of five years, or until they have been part of the program for five years. The employee then has a two-year timeframe in which to use this extended leave time.
