Research Center The Intel China Research Center (ICRC) in Beijing is part of Intel's worldwide research center for processor technology and emerging applications for the IA-32 and Intel® Itanium® processors and platforms. Its purpose is to define and shape the architecture, design and capabilities of Intel's processors and platforms within three main research areas: developing emerging audio/visual algorithms and technologies to enable natural user interfaces for future PCs, conducting research on future applications to drive future processor and platform architecture, and conducting research on advanced compiler technologies to enhance future processor architecture.
ICRC is the fourth Intel worldwide microprocessor research laboratory and the first research organization in the Asia region for Intel. Employees are working on speech recognition and synthesis, natural language processing, Internet information processing and decision support, machine translation, instruction sets and application-specific core research.
The center works to realize intelligent, listening, talking and seeing computing devices of the future. The research team is working closely with speech researchers worldwide to help incorporate speech technologies in future software applications.
Architecture Lab The Intel® Internet Exchange Architecture Lab in Beijing works on Intel® IXA, a packet-processing architecture that provides a foundation for software portability across multiple generations of network processors. Intel® IXA is a highly programmable packet-processing architecture that enables faster time-to-market, greater design flexibility and longer time-in-market. Intel is building a robust developer community that provides the greatest choice of standards-based network processing building blocks. These solutions enable faster deployment of intelligent network services and also maximize return on capital investment.
