The focus is on flexible manufacturing, experiment management, user interfaces, process control, to enable high volume factory ramps. Automation Engineers are responsible for the full software lifecycle, from vision and requirements analysis to implementation, support, and continuous improvement. The objective is to deliver the next Intel computing breakthrough with speed, efficiency, and economy. And then to do it again.

Below are examples of the types of work that you can be a part of in manufacturing automation:

• Typical degrees include MS or PhD in computer science, computer engineering, industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, or other technical engineering fields with seven to ten years of working experience.
• Excellent communication, time management, and project management skills.
• Ability to thrive in a rapidly changing environment.
• Strong understanding of the hardware and software development lifecycle.
• Superior computer troubleshooting skills preferred.
