- Provide counsel to business unit managers in legal issues involved in business operations, including driving industry-wide initiatives, complying with government regulations, protecting our intellectual property, negotiating and complying with contracts and resolving disputes.
- Draft and negotiate patent, copyright, trade secret and hybrid licenses; development agreements; supply and distribution agreements; develop and support execution of corporate intellectual property licensing strategy, including determination of third-party infringement of Intel patents.
- Support Intel's corporate activities, including acquisitions, joint ventures (including equity joint ventures), venture investments and strategic partnerships. Handle stock/asset acquisitions, bridge financing and other investment transactions, often with a technology-licensing component. Structure and negotiate deals, draft documents, coordinate with other attorneys and departments and manage outside counsel.
- Obtain the appropriate intellectual property protection (patents, copyrights, trade secrets) for Intel® technology. Prepare and prosecute patent applications for Intel technology, including review and oversight for prosecution work by external law firms and counsel in miscellaneous patent-related intellectual property issues and assist in portfolio analysis and development.
- Work with a wide range of clients regarding availability, use, protection, enforcement and licensing of Intel trademarks and brands worldwide.
- Develop and execute litigation strategy for complex commercial or intellectual property matters.
- Serve as Intel’s link to governments at all levels worldwide. Working through a variety of projects, World Government Affairs maintains a supportive public policy environment to assure governments regard Intel as a valued global corporate citizen.
