Component Design and Validation Overview
Moore's Law states that the number of transistors on a given area of silicon will
double about every 24 months. As feature sizes become smaller and circuits operate at higher speeds, Intel component design and validation
engineers are the ones that design innovative architectures to deliver new levels of performance and energy efficiency.
What You'll Do
The jobs our component design and validation engineers do are anything but routine. These are the people responsible for chip
layout, circuit design, circuit checking, device evaluation, and validation. Starting with product requirements and logic diagrams, they plan design
projects and help address the unique needs of our customers. And, for Intel's senior positions, you'll combine engineering and manufacturing work
with management responsibilities. That means every day presents exciting new technical challenges.
What We Make Possible
Intel Processors
Intel delivers processor innovations from the desktop to the data center, and on the go.
Product Technologies
As our future becomes increasingly connected, Intel is developing advanced technologies that are enabling an entirely new line of laptops, Mobile Internet Devices, and more.
What You'll Bring
Successful component design and validation engineers at Intel typically have bachelors or advanced degrees in electrical, electrical
and computing, or mechanical engineering, chemistry, materials science, or computer science. We look for individuals with strong knowledge of processor
architecture and micro architecture, system debug skills, programming skills in C, C++, TCL, assembly, and Perl in the Linux or Windows environment, and
understanding of software or hardware validation techniques. We also value experience with VHDL and Verilog RTL coding and Synopsys Design Compiler/Physical
Compiler. Excellent knowledge of overall validation and verification concepts from design to production and the related quality metrics is important.
