In line with our company value of ‘Be an asset to our communities
worldwide’, Intel Ireland is committed to community service at both
a local and national level. Our hope is to earn the support
of the community by being responsible, concerned and involved.
We have a programme of activities to increase understanding with
our neighbours in North Kildare. Representatives from the community
are invited to participate on our Community
Advisory Panel (CAP), and employees volunteer thousands of hours
each year to community projects through our Intel
Involved programme.
The US Chamber of Commerce in Ireland has twice awarded Intel Ireland
its Community Partnership Award, in recognition of the company's
deep involvement with our local communities. The Award recognises
American companies operating in Ireland who have made a major contribution
to the enrichment and development of community life, and whose efforts
have and continue to contribute to the well being of the community
in which they operate. We have also developed a special link between
Intel and the River Rye,
with Intel working with the Central Fisheries Board, University
College Dublin and Leixlip Anglers Club to save a salmon and trout
fishery from destruction and restore it to full health.
Twice a year, we publish a community newsletter called Local Update and deliver it to over 17,000 households in the local community. The newsletter features Intel business updates and information about our education, environment, community and work life effectiveness programmes.
