JUNIOR ACHIEVEMENT PRESENTATIONS AT INTEL

September 18, 2006

Twenty-four Intel employees were recognised last week for their participation in the Junior Achievement programme. Representatives from Junior Achievement presented the Intel volunteers with certificates to acknowledge their hard work and participation in the programme last year.

Junior Achievement is a worldwide, non-profit organisation that aims to build a bridge between the classroom and the workplace through teaching specifically designed classes about enterprise and the world of work. There are 18 different classes that can be taught to children between the ages of 5 to 18 years old, over a six to ten week period. Intel employees taught these classes in a number of local primary and post-primary schools.

Janice Leonard from Intel, who completed a Junior Achievement class programme said, “The Junior Achievement programme is a fantastic way for people in the workplace to give something back to the local community and get involved with something that they could not normally avail of in their own line of work. The programme was a really enjoyable experience and is certainly a great way to help our local schools.”

Rachel Neill-Watson from Junior Achievement praised the Intel volunteers for their commitment and dedication to the programme, “The Intel volunteers did a great job with the children and got fantastic feedback from the local schools that they taught in. Many thanks to all the volunteers for their hard work, and we look forward to seeing them and the new volunteers that will be teaching classes this year.”

Intel, the world leader in silicon innovation, develops technologies, products and initiatives to continually advance how people work and live. Additional information about Intel is available at www.intel.com/pressroom.
