TWO GROUPS OF INTEL VOLUNTEERS PAINT A SCHOOL IN CELBRIDGE
October 03, 2006

As part of an Intel Involved project, a group of 14 volunteers from Intel’s Fab 24 Litho department recently spent an evening lending a helping hand in Saint Raphael’s School, Celbridge, which is part of Saint John of God Kildare Services. The group, led by Fintan Hanley, had the immense task of painting six classrooms, the adjoining hallways and a set of toilets.
Fintan says he speaks for the team when he says everyone really enjoyed the project, “We all worked together to get the job at hand completed in time – we also had great fun carrying out the project as a team and it was a great opportunity to socialise outside of work!”
The following evening, a further group of 14 volunteers headed to the school to help finish off the work that Litho had started.
This project qualifies for the Intel Volunteer Matching Grants Programme. For every 20 hours an Intel employee volunteers in a school, the Intel Foundations gives the school the equivalent of $200 at the end of the school year. This year, the Intel Foundation has given $23,200 to Irish schools.
