Volunteers from Our Lady’s Hospital for Sick Children Crumlin visited the Intel campus recently to raise money and to collect arts and crafts supplies from Intel employees.

The volunteers from the hospital were selling a selection of stuffed toys, kindly donated by Tesco, which proved to be big sellers and very popular with employees. Through the sale of ‘Prissy Kitties’ and monetary donations, the hospital raised a staggering €4,814. The group will be returning to the campus within the next few weeks to give those that work on shift the chance to donate as well.

The volunteers were also collecting arts and crafts supplies donated by Intel employees for the PlayWell Group within the hospital. PlayWell is a scheme organized by ‘Children in Hospital Ireland’ which supports and helps sick children and their families. They are based in numerous hospitals around the country. The PlayWell Group highlighted their need for donations of arts and crafts supplies prior to their visit and was thrilled with the amount of items donated throughout the week. Items donated included paints, colouring pencils, crepe paper and coloured card.

Jill Judge, a volunteer from the hospital was delighted by the amount raised. “It’s really great to have raised so much money over the two days we were on the campus. A big thank you must be extended to everyone who donated generously, as well to the Intel volunteers who helped us out.”
