INTEL EMPLOYEES COLLECT OVER 400 BOOKS FOR SOUTH AFRICA

April 18, 2006

April is National Spring Clean Month and this year employees in Intel took the opportunity to help others while doing some Spring Cleaning at home. A children’s book collection was held across the site for two weeks. Employees were asked to donate any books suitable for children under 13 years of age.

The collection was in aid of The Friendship Library, a library recently built in a school in South Africa. Over 400 books were collected and have already been shipped along with the others collected from the area.

Gillian Neary one of the organisers of The Friendship Library said, “With the help of all the organisations that took part in the collection we managed to get an entire garage full of books! It really was a fantastic response to the appeal.”

If you have an idea for a project that Intel Involved could help out with please contact Caroline Curran in Public Affairs at 01 6067000.
