Rick Kroon, director of EHS provides his EHS perspective
At Intel, we have a proud history of excellence in environment, health and safety (EHS). Our programs, our people and our results have been continually recognized for their leadership and positive impacts. Today, we posses the talented people and strong motivations to continue that excellence. As our process technologies grow in complexity, so does our desire to continually reduce our environmental footprint, to improve the safety of our employees and to provide a healthier workplace.
The key to our success is our EHS employees. We hire the brightest minds across the world and provide the challenging workplace for each to grow, develop and most importantly, positively impact our business. What makes EHS unique is that beyond just their minds, our employee’s work from their hearts. They have passion in their beliefs and their daily actions live in pursuit of our EHS cause. Looking forward, our dedicated EHS professionals will continue to lead the way, however, it will be the relentless efforts of all our Intel employees which will maintain our EHS leadership position.
At Intel, the future is exciting as we demonstrate that what is good for the planet is good for business as well as good for the communities we share with each other. We will remain relentless in our pursuit of an injury free environment for our employees and are just beginning to realize the incredibly positive possibilities from our growing Health and Well Being programs. Our environmental efforts will continue to evolve in leadership fashion as our sustainability focus remains as strong as ever and we tackle issues such as climate change and product disposal. I am extremely confident that Intel’s history of EHS leadership will continue well into the future.
As I visit our Intel operations around the world, I’m excited to say that I find an extremely powerful commonality of cause across cultures and geographies when it comes to protecting people and our planet. This commonality which envelopes our EHS cause, extends well beyond the walls of Intel and to me, paints the picture of bright future for us all.
