There are a number of companies which are now publishing corporate governance rating scores of various types. These ratings companies each use their own proprietary ratings criteria which differ to some greater or lesser degree between each other as to items to be scored and scores being given for each item. Rating companies also vary in the extent to which they publish their scoring systems for review by issuers or the general public; in some cases the scoring methodology is only made available to paid subscribers. Intel may respond to requests for information from ratings companies, but in some cases the ratings company prepares its analysis and score without seeking or accepting input from the issuers such as Intel.
Intel neither recommends the use of these ratings scores to its investors, nor seeks to dissuade its investors from taking the scores into account. We do not publish these scores, which vary over time. Please note that any opinions, estimates or forecasts regarding Intel's corporate governance practices or the historical or predicted performance of Intel made by those firms are theirs alone and do not represent opinions, forecasts or predictions of Intel Corporation or its management. Intel is providing this notice as a service to its stockholders, and does not by this notice imply its endorsement of or concurrence with such information, conclusions or recommendations. Interested persons must obtain copies of corporate governance rating reports on their own; Intel does not distribute these reports and some of these reports may only be available from a rating service for a fee or in conjunction with some other service.
We recommend that investors analyze the methodologies and resources of the various rating companies to gain a better understanding of the level of usefulness of the ratings for investment or other purposes. The value judgements reflected in the scoring methodology of a rating company may not be readily apparent from the published score and other publicly-available materials. Various of these rating companies provide compensated services to institutional investors, issuers and to others, and may be affiliated by ownership or otherwise with investors, securities firms or other active participants in the securities markets. One or more of these rating companies, or their affiliates, may from time to time be providing compensated services to Intel.
