We strive to uphold the highest standards of corporate governance and business ethics in day-to-day activities at Intel and in our engagements with external stakeholders. We continuously work to develop a strong culture of trust through open and direct communication, and are committed to accountability and transparency in our work on public policy issues.

Ethics training

In 2008, over 98 percent of our employees received formal training on the Intel Code of Conduct, which includes principles and guidelines that promote honest and ethical conduct, deter wrongdoing, and support compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

Upholding human rights

Based on stakeholder feedback, Intel developed a set of human rights principlesFiletype/Size: PDF 28.26KB to complement our code of conduct and succinctly express our commitment to human rights and responsible labor practices.

Stockholder feedback on compensation

In January 2009, in response to a request from a stockholder, the Intel Board of Directors approved a plan to adopt an advisory vote on executive compensation, giving Intel stockholders further opportunity to give feedback on our compensation practices.

To supplement face-to-face meetings with stakeholders, we generate ongoing discussion through web tools and social media, such as the CSR@Intel blog.

Our goals in working on public policy topics are to engage as a trusted advisor, to fully understand different perspectives, and to educate legislators on the effects that regulations have on our industry, customers, and employees.
