Expanding What's Possible

Digital Leaders Forum Bringing thought leaders together to promote competitiveness

A gathering of ministers of education and communication as well as representatives of non government organizations, private enterprises and multilateral organizations, the central purpose of a Digital Leaders Forum is to design a set of policies and an action schedule for the medium term in order to promote competitiveness in the region through the intensive use of information and communications technologies. Intel, led by Craig Barrett, believes that this gathering of leaders will bring about greater synergy to accelerate and deepen impact in this area in the years to come. Digital Leaders Forum participants focus on three key areas: education, connectivity and access to technology. The forum’s goals are for the participants to find consensus on top priority issues and actions for enhancing the competitiveness of the region through the adoption, penetration and diffusion of ICT, create opportunities for public/private collaborations, and establish a way to follow-up and track progress in the coming years.
