Intel Server & Storage Innovation Award Winners
Recognizing Innovation Excellence on Intel® Architecture

This year Intel held the first-ever Intel Server & Storage Innovation Awards. The awards were created to recognize unique innovation for Intel® architecture-based server and storage platforms for local and regional OEMs. To select the winners, Intel looked at local companies that demonstrate advancements in performance, performance per watt, unique solutions and measurable business results for challenges faced by end user customers.

The winners include:

Areca – The Areca ARC-1280 PCI Express* to SATA II and Fibre to SAS Host Bus Adapters offers unmatched performance and proven sustained transfer rate. Several design efficiencies combine to enable these performance metrics, including hardware-accelerated RAID, a new DDR memory bus architecture, and dual-bus configurations.
Fujitsu – Fujitsu's innovative approach of PRIMERGY* TX120 on based on the Intel® Xeon® processor offers offers end users with low power consumption and power efficiency. It is the world's smallest compact design and the world's quietest air-cooled server.
Rackable Systems – Rackable Systems' new modular, containerized data center product—Concentro*—is optimized for density, cooling and serviceability and is a cost-effective alternative to traditional data center build-outs. It offers rapid deployment and flexibility, enabling a variety of site selection, scale and power options for the end user.
Supermicro – Supermicro's 1U Twin* product, code-named "Atoka-V", effectively doubles the density of traditional full-depth rack servers available in the market and is an innovative 1U rackmount system designed to increase computing density while reducing cost, power and space requirements.
TyanPSC – The TyanPSC Personal Supercomputer* is a fully integrated, turnkey cluster in an enclosed chassis designed for the office environment and has dedicated disk storage, can be plugged in any power socket and is very quiet.
Xyratex – The Xyratex HS-1235E is a highly flexible platform that offers high storage density and CPU power to execute business applications. With its integrated IOAT features, the 1235E delivers performance enhanced benefits and is an ideal delivery vehicle for emerging storage and/or networking technologies.
Honorable mentions include: Bull*, Open-E*, Kraftway Corporation*, MaxVision* and Verari Systems*.

Intel Server & Storage Innovation Award winners were honored for their company's achievement at the Spring 2007 Intel Developer Forum in Beijing, China. Each company received an award statue presented by Pat Gelsinger, senior vice president and general manager of the Digital Enterprise Group at Intel, an exclusive dinner with Intel executives and various onsite promotion opportunities.
