These claims are based on performance testing using SPECint*_rate_base2006 on a class of processors designed for use in ultra-thin laptops with a Thermal Design Point (TDP) of 10 Watts or less. SPECint*_rate_base2006 and SPECfp*_rate_base2006 are capacity-based metrics used to measure throughput of a computer that is performing a number of tasks. This is achieved by running multiple copies of each benchmark simultaneously with the number of copies set to set to the number of logical hardware cores seen by the operating system. SPEC* CPU2006 provides a comparative measure of compute intensive performance across the widest practical range of hardware. The product consists of source code benchmarks that are developed from real user applications. These benchmarks depend on the processor, memory and compiler on the tested system.

DivX* 6.8.5 is a format for digital video. The workload for VirtualDub is a 66.2MB 110second MPEG2 video file in 720x480 resolution at 5Mbps. It is converted to DivX format with 720x480 resolution with a total size of ~10.3MB. Extrapolation is used to calculate the number of 5-minute videos you can prepare in 10 minutes.
‡3 Adobe Photoshop Lightroom* 2.3 is a photography application that lets you manage, adjust, and present a large amount of photographs. For this scenario Lightroom 2.3 is used to resize 125 ten-megapixel and 75 six-megapixel JPEG photos at 480x360 resolution for posting to Facebook* or viewing on portable devices such as an iPhone*. The input file for this workload is a 1-minute, 16-second, 29.97fps, 1920x1080 video clip with VBR encoding and a total size of about 1.12GB. The output is an HDV format MPEG file with 1920x1080 resolution, 29.97fps and 25000Kb/s CBR encoding. The extrapolation used calculates how long to create a 5-minute video.
