Intel ISEF Educator Academy

In conjunction with the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair, the Intel ISEF Educator Academy brings together a select group of educators and government officials from Intel sites around the world to explore proven, innovative methods of engaging students in the study of science and math.

Connecting science and math educators

During the five-day Intel ISEF Educator Academy, outstanding educators present workshops on student research, project-based learning and other proven ways to engage students in the study of science and mathematics.

Also, experienced science fair organizers share resources and provide participants with valuable information about managing, organizing, and preparing students for science fairs.

Attending the Intel ISEF Educator Academy enables participants to build a global network with:

  • Ministry of education officials
  • Science fair officials
  • Officials from universities, academies, and professional organizations
  • Teachers experienced with student-centered learning
  • Science coordinators, instructional, and curriculum specialists
  • Mentors for student researchers

Review Action Plans from Past Educator Academies

Action Plans detail what each team plans to achieve at home based on their learnings from the academy. Plans include goals and objectives and actions needed to achieve their goals, including measurable outcomes and assigned responsibilities.

The team from Morocco saw Intel ISEF for the first time in 2009. They developed an Action Plan focused on improving science education and bringing students to Intel ISEF for the first time in 2010.

Taiwan students have earned high honors at Intel ISEF in recent years. The Educator Academy Team developed an Action Plan focused on making systemic change in science education in the country and expanding science fair efforts.

Cultural exchange: an Intel ISEF tradition

Exchanging pins is a long-standing Intel ISEF tradition. Intel provides all Education Academy participants with 25 pins to trade. In addition, participants are encouraged to bring pins representative of their country to share.
