Description
This session boosts participants' project development skills by guiding them
through two collections of engaging, technology-supported learning projects
that are featured on the Intel® Innovation in Education Web site. Both
sets of resources have been developed by teachers for teachers. The first set,
Designing Effective Projects, includes detailed lesson plans for K-12 classrooms
developed by teachers participating in the Intel® Teach to the Future
training program. The second, called An Innovation Odyssey, offers a
global tour of how teachers are using technology with success in their
classrooms. Rather than detailed lesson plans, Odyssey delivers the spark of
inspiration with a daily, illustrated feature story about classroom innovation.
Participants first tour the Web site to become familiar with these
online collections. Then, they explore how to identify and adapt other
teachers' unit plans for their own classrooms. Workshop discussions help
participants define their own criteria for what makes a suitable project for
adaptation. Participants leave the session with new resources and effective
strategies for reviewing, selecting, and adapting online teaching resources.
