Intel Taiwan has sponsored the Taiwan National Student Contest on Wireless and
Networking for over 3 years and provides a special enterprise award "Intel
Innovation Award" to encourage the students using Intel Architecture in their
project. In 2004, a CIS team from the National Cheng Kung University received
the "Intel Innovation Award" with their project using a UPnP Bridge to
integrate Non-UPnP devices providing a total solution to integrate different
standards and friendly interfaces to realize a "Digital Home". In October 2004,
Intel Taiwan Country Manager, Jason LS Chen, presented the award to the
students. Taiwan's Vice President Annette Lu was in attendance to acknowledge
the students research results and recognize Intel's contribution to promote
student's innovation and creation in communication technology research.
In 2004, Taiwan National Student Contest on Wireless and Networking had over
400 students participating representing 119 teams. The teams hailed from 35
universities representing Electrical Engineering and Computer Science
departments.
"Intel Innovation Award" is and award of $10,000USD and a Centrino Laptop
system for each team member.
